ENCNow
Stewart and his wife Barbara go to the county fair every year, and every year Stewart would say, "Barbara, I'd like to ride in that helicopter"

Barbara always replied, "I know Stewart, but that helicopter ride is seventy dollars, and seventy dollars is seventy dollars!"

One year later Stewart and Barbara went to the fair again, and Stewart said, "Barbara, I'm 75 years old. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance." To this, Barbara replied, "Stewart, that helicopter ride is seventy dollars, and seventy dollars is seventy dollars"

The pilot overheard the couple and said, "Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and don't say a word I won't charge you a cent! But if you say one word its seventy dollars. "

Stewart and Barbara agreed and up they went.

The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again,

    But still not a word...

When they landed, the pilot turned to Stewart and said, "By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm impressed!"

Stewart replied, "Well, to tell you the truth I almost said something when Barbara fell out,

But you know, seventy dollars is seventy dollars!"

    Now that is FUNNY!!!

The day after election all of us need a good laugh! Last night I had duties with my grandsons so I did not attend any election parties ON EITHER SIDE. In years past, I have been at the North Raleigh Hilton where Democrats gather to await the results. I have seen the winners celebrate. I dare say it was a wake rather than a party last night in Raleigh. The most important thing is that the election is over and the votes have spoken. I was getting more than tired of the last week's repeat ads.

Some of us are happy today. Others are bitterly disappointed. The President was hoping to get a Congress cleaned up so he might progress with his attempts to bring the country out of the Recession and War. Both items go hand in hand. You can't pay the costs of war and give big tax breaks to those with money already --- Corporations and the Wealthy Citizens. Despite all the great sales pitch from Ronald Reagan that the Trickle Down Theory would bring prosperity. George W. Bush was President and the Stock Market crashed / banks went under over risky deals / the average citizen still cannot borrow money unless he has enough collateral to pay the loan in full is it defaulted.

The Stock Market has risen nicely in recent years. Many stock advisors are telling their clients to get out and move to Bonds because another crash if right around the corner. The only sure thing about predictions on stocks and hurricanes is they will most often be 100% WRONG!!!

Guess what --- If you have that much money, you don't need to borrow --- and the bank makes its money on interest for risks they take! Right now in Beaufort County there are tons of nice subdivisions with utilities and roads in place at great expense and NO ONE IS BUYING OR BUILDING HOUSES ON THEM. The Realtors are starving. The investors are in foreclosure. The property is up for cheap prices. How I wish I had money these days and time to sit on the purchase ---IF HIGH PROPERTY TAXES DID NOT TAKE IT AWAY.

    Another 100% bet is

Congress with still get big pay and perks whether us citizens are still in Recession or not. Taxes on Income will not be made one dab better for working people who now pay for the War spending. Congress passes a Tax Code. The IRS enforces it. The President can only override their Tax Code once and now --- for sure --- they can override his veto with the results of the election.

    All I can say is

    SEVENTY DOLLARS IS SEVENTY DOLLARS!

Look carefully at what we could be doing, were it not for war spending out the wazoo:
