Jones Votes Against 1.1 Trillion Cromnibus Bill | Eastern NC Now

News Release:

    WASHINGTON, D.C.     Last night, Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) voted against the CRomnibus bill, a combination of a continuing resolution to keep the Department of Homeland Security funded through February and an omnibus spending bill to fund the government until the end of the 2015 fiscal year. Congressman Jones issued the following statement on his vote:

    “As the only member of Congress to vote against every debt ceiling increase in the last 11 years, I cannot in good conscience support a piece of legislation that does absolutely nothing to address the most pressing issue facing our country – out of control spending,” said Congressman Jones. “President Obama got everything he wanted in this CRomnibus. This bill provides funding for his unconstitutional amnesty for illegal aliens, hundreds of billions of dollars of more deficit spending, billions of dollars in deficit-financed foreign aid, billions of dollars for his unauthorized wars, funding for Obamacare, a Wall Street giveaway, and a lot of other troubling things buried in 1,700 pages that nobody was given time to read. Instead of leading the way in trying to curb our reckless spending habit, Congress folded like a cheap suit to President Obama.”
