How America Works Best | Eastern NC Now

    This video comes to me from a super conservative buddy BUT it gets to the core of our angst in America over hate and theft. Even though we disagree on politics, we are one on FAITH.

    It is my belief that:

    •  We enjoyed the peace of the 50's when most of us were children because our parents had seen the horrors of WWII and were glad to be moving on.

    •  We were in the Korean Conflict pretty soon and war of a cold sort with Communism.

    •  We did not get taken under by McCarthy seeing a communist under every bush / he was exposed for a bully of fear and false accusation.

    •  We went to churches and saw nothing wrong with prayer in school / even were respected if they did not want to participate.

    •  Then MISTRUST entered the picture when "you could not trust anyone over 30." Emory led an Affirmation Vietnam Rally / Berkeley and many other schools got angry and let it all hang out.

    •  Kennedy got killed along with Martin Luther King, Jr. And Bobby Kennedy, I felt progress with peace was lost Nixon conspired his way into the White House and got caught.

    •  Clinton was attractive, but had personal morality issues / the Congress went crazy over Impeachment more to get even over Nixon than a real need to Impeach.

    •  Reagan was a great actor who fronted the sales pitch for VooDoo economics nothing has trickled down to me and others of the middle class except Recession.

    •  Media left a neutral position and exploited our hate and fears to draw viewers and great wealth to Conservative Commentators.

    •  Churches started invading the airwaves and the Mega Church put on a big show with money as its goal along with entertainment of the worshipers by men and buildings.

    •  We were to the point you could not just be a Moderate thinking person you had to take some side be Extreme to be heard.

    •  Each side said it had a solution = help the poor with unending welfare / help the rich with unending tax breaks got to war in the Middle East where oil was the real objective.

    •  Scheming your way to the top became the mantra over Serving your way to the top.

    •  We now have the politics of hate where no one works to Compromise.

    •  The Tea Party formed to pour gasoline on hate and threaten their fellow Republicans if they dared to compromise. Fox News throws out claims that other media is "Liberal" and only they tell the truth.

    •  People quit thinking for themselves they just want to side with a winner without any consideration to the moral tune being played in fact the are little or no morals today.

    I am getting too old and impatient to keep quiet. I am tired of the LOVE of money and Jesus was right over such being the root of all evil.

    In Matthew 23 Jesus says this (Today's English Version):

    "The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees are the authorized interpreters of Moses' Law. So you must obey and follow everything they tell you to do; do not, however, imitate their actions, because they don't practice what they preach. They tie onto people's backs loads that are heavy and hard to carry, yet they aren't willing even to life a finger to help them carry these loads. The do everything so that people will see them. Look at the straps and scripture verses on them which they wear on their foreheads and arms, and notice how large they are? Notice also how long are the tassels on their cloaks? They love the best places at feasts and the reserved seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the market places and to have people call them 'Teacher.' You must not call anyone here on earth "Father," because we have only the one Father in heaven. Nor should you be called "Leader," because your one and only leader is the Messiah. The greatest one among you must be your servant. Whoever makes himself great will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be made great."

    Read the following verses on how Jesus condemns Hypocrisy . . .

    Jesus continues with a prediction of their punishment ... Jesus ends with this:

    "Jerusalem, Jerusalem? You kill the prophets and stone the messengers God has sent you! How many times I wanted to put my arms around all your people, just as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings., but you would not let me? And so your Temple will be abandoned and empty. From now on, I tell you, you will never see me again until you say, 'God bless him who comes in the name of the lord.' "

    This morning, I choose to listen to Jesus, the man and quit being distracted by sweet little Jesus boy of Christmas . . .
