Do Ken Spaulding And Roy Cooper Stand With Moral Monday Like Protesters? | Eastern North Carolina Now

News Release:

H.B. 318 Protesters Set To Appear In Court Thursday

Raleigh, N.C.     As H.B. 318 protesters arrested in front of the Executive Mansion are set to appear in court, the North Carolina Republican Party questions whether Ken Spaulding and Roy Cooper stand with the protesters and their moral Monday type tactics. Do Ken Spaulding and Roy Cooper support these protesters who broke the law, blocked traffic and monopolized law enforcement resources?

Additionally the party asked the two Democrat candidates for governor if they would have vetoed the bill signed by Governor McCrory to end sanctuary cities and uphold the rule of law.

As our chief law enforcement officer, would Roy Cooper have signed the bill to end sanctuary cities and require law enforcement officers to do their job?

As a former big city mayor, would Ken Spaulding have vetoed the bill to end the policies of non-cooperation with federal law immigration officials?

In September, President Obama's own secretary of homeland security said sanctuary city laws are "not acceptable" and "counterproductive to public safety."
