Combat Crime: Stolen Firearms, Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia | Eastern NC Now

On December 21st, 2015 at approximately 12:20 PM, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near John Small Avenue in Washington, for an expired registration.

    On December 21st, 2015 at approximately 12:20 PM, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near John Small Avenue in Washington, for an expired registration. Due to the suspicious behavior of the vehicle’s occupants, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and K9 Elza additionally responded to assist. K9 Elza alerted on the vehicle, and a subsequent search was performed. As a result, two stolen firearms were recovered from the vehicle, and a small quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were also located.

    The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation, collected evidence, and conducted interviews. As a result of information and evidence gathered during the investigation, Investigator Jonathan Fowler applied for and obtained warrants charging Ashley Marie Boyd, age 29, of Possum Hill Rd., Bath, Allen Daquan Newman, age 17, of Buck Road Extension, Washington, Allen Michael Boyd, age 16, of Big Buck Drive, Washington, and Kentrell Telhrone Washington, age 19, of Magnolia School Road, Washington, with one (1) count of Felony Breaking and Entering, one (1) count of Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and one (1) count of Felony Larceny of a Firearm. Juvenile Petitions were also applied for and obtained for charging the juvenile driver with one (1) count of Felony Breaking and Entering, one (1) count of Felony Larceny, one (1) count of Felony Possession of Stolen Property, and one (1) count of Misdemeanor Operation of a Motor Vehicle without a License.

    Allen Newman and Allen Boyd were held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $3,000.00 secured bond set by Magistrate J. Mills. Ashleigh Boyd was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $3,000.00 secured bond set by Magistrate E. Holmes.

    On December 28th, 2015, Kentrell Washington was arrested by the Washington Police Department held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $3,000.00 secured bond set by Magistrate J. Mills.

On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Beaufort County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against 24-year-old Brady O’Neil Daniels of Wallace, NC, charging him with the murder of Billy Joe Bell in 2023.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.
In the past month, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 Division have arrested 10 people in the county on felony drug charges.
On December 12, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 27-year-old Nikkopenia Terra Echevarria of Washington, NC on multiple felony drug charges.
Beaufort County District Attorney Thomas D. Anglim disclosed that Ryan Austin Stalls was convicted of two counts attempted murder and one count of attempted first degree ex offense and first-degree kidnapping following a guilty plea in Beaufort County on December 9, 2025.
On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.

On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:
Today I officially filed for re-election, seeking to continue my service to the citizens of Beaufort County.
On January 27, 2025 Washington Police Department officers and Washington Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the area of Bonner Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash.
During the past month, members from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Patrol Division and K9 Unit have charged seven people in the county on felony drug charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating a wanted person. On October 27, 2025, 40-year-old Givon Montrell Hodges of Washington, NC left Superior Court in Beaufort County and failed to return.
