Meth Lab Bust Yields More Suspects | Eastern NC Now

On 02-29-2016, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit obtained arrest warrants on the following four (4) people for purchasing and delivering pseudoephedrine to the Meth Lab that was found at 113 Hwy. 33 west in Chocowinity on 2-2-2016.

    On 02-29-2016, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit obtained arrest warrants on the following four (4) people for purchasing and delivering pseudoephedrine to the Meth Lab that was found at 113 Hwy. 33 west in Chocowinity on 2-2-2016.

    Aaron Jones, 41 years of age, of 117 Hollis Drive in Blounts Creek, Tammie Overton, 50 years of age, of 9761 Hwy. 17 in Vanceboro, Michael Harding, 34 years of age, of 2174 Whichards Beach Road in Chocowinity and Teddy Clayton, 25 years of age, of 451 Barwick Drive were charged with Possession to Distribute a Meth Precursor.

    On 2-29-2016, Investigators served the arrest warrant on Clayton. Investigators searched Clayton at the time of his arrest and found heroin, marijuana and oxycodone pills in Clayton's pocket. Clayton was charged with additional charges of Trafficking in Opiates, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Clayton was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $150,000.00 secured bond.

    Jones and Overton turned themselves in at the magistrates office on 03-01-2016 and were released under a $2,000.00 secured bond.

    Harding is supposed to turn himself in on Friday.

Latest Combat Crime

On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Beaufort County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against 24-year-old Brady O’Neil Daniels of Wallace, NC, charging him with the murder of Billy Joe Bell in 2023.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.
In the past month, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 Division have arrested 10 people in the county on felony drug charges.
On December 12, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 27-year-old Nikkopenia Terra Echevarria of Washington, NC on multiple felony drug charges.
Beaufort County District Attorney Thomas D. Anglim disclosed that Ryan Austin Stalls was convicted of two counts attempted murder and one count of attempted first degree ex offense and first-degree kidnapping following a guilty plea in Beaufort County on December 9, 2025.
On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.

On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:
Today I officially filed for re-election, seeking to continue my service to the citizens of Beaufort County.
On January 27, 2025 Washington Police Department officers and Washington Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the area of Bonner Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash.
During the past month, members from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Patrol Division and K9 Unit have charged seven people in the county on felony drug charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating a wanted person. On October 27, 2025, 40-year-old Givon Montrell Hodges of Washington, NC left Superior Court in Beaufort County and failed to return.

On April 25, 2024, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jaleza Aneice Alexander on multiple drug charges.
