    Enjoy your afternoon identifying and studying some of North Carolina's native owls. You'll even learn to communicate with one special species. Please meet at the park's visitor center.

      Saturday, February 27, 2016       Welcome to Goose Creek       2:00 pm

    This presentation will introduce all of the wonderful things you can find at the park from recreational opportunities to our wonderful natural communities. Great for first-time visitors or anyone wanting to get to know the park. Meet at the visitor center.

      Saturday, March 5, 2016       Black Bears in Eastern NC       2:00 pm

    Do you think there are more black bears located in the mountains of North Carolina or along the coast of North Carolina? Are all black bears actually black? Do we have grizzly bears or brown bears? Meet at the park visitor center to learn some cool facts and debunk a lot of myths about our native black bears. There will be mounts on display for great photo opportunities.

      Saturday, March 19, 2016       Ticks, Chiggers and Mosquitos       2:00 pm

    Learn about everyone's least favorite critters, how to avoid them, get rid of them and what diseases they can potentially carry. Meet at the visitor center.

RALEIGH: Today, Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDNCR) Secretary Reid Wilson celebrated Earth Day by visiting Goose Creek State Park in Washington.
Washington, N.C. – The inaugural Rivers East Advanced Manufacturing Academy took place at Pitt Community College on Friday, September 23rd.
Please join us at the park visitor center on Saturday, October 8th from 3-5 pm where we will host a Halloween Wildlife Event.
On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., N.C. House of Representatives Speaker Tim Moore, Representative Keith Kidwell, local elected officials and industry leaders will break ground
