Ross Won't Say if FBI Should Access Terrorist's Phone | Eastern NC Now

    Raleigh, NC     After a months-long and unresolved battle with Apple, the FBI has developed a work-around to gain access to the iPhone left behind by one of the shooters in the San Bernardino attack which killed 14 people and wounded 22 others. This impasse is just the beginning of an encryption battle that led Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr to work across the aisle with Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein to give prosecutors the ability to access a suspect's phones with a court order.

    In a recent interview with Time Warner Cable News, Deborah Ross was asked whether the FBI should be able to access a terrorist's phone to help with an investigation. Despite being asked by the reporter three times, Deborah Ross refuses to answer his question.

    Ross goes on to say, "both parties need to try and work it out."

    Senator Burr is working across the aisle to do just that.
