An open letter to Sarah….Palin that is… | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's Note: I suppose it would not be much of a stretch to suggest that our friend and frequent contributor, Mike Hayes, is not so much of a fan of the former Republican VP Candidate.

Dear Sarah,

I see that you have used your time wisely since the campaign of 2008. With all that goes with being Governor of such a prestigious state….wait….that’s right…you quit that job. Didn’t you? Wasn’t there some sort of ethics investigation going on at the time of your resignation? Oh well, I digress and people will forget about that anyway. No biggie.

In any case, what have you been reading lately? Or, have you had Todd read to you? I know you rely on his input because when the good people of Alaska voted for you they knew they were getting the whole package! Right? He’s such a good man. Not many guys would accept their role as being a kempt Mr. Mom.

I noticed in your speech to the Teabaggers Party that the biggest line which drew attention was that we needed more action against terrorism, not some college professor in the White House! Way to go after ‘em, Sarah! Make no mistake about it, you will never be confused with a college professor! I can assure you of that!

So, Sarah, I understand that you are considering a run for President of our fair land in 2012. Let me just say this: I am not to proud to beg….PLEASE DO IT!!! Before now, I confess I kinda wished you would just focus on raising your 5 children and grandchild, but Lord knows we need someone like you in the mix. How boring would it be for someone who actually has a clue about foreign policy and economics to come and lead our nation at its time of darkness and doom. Without you, we will surely go to hell in a hand basket; but with you? Imagine it, Sarah! Todd and you…..or would it be you and Todd?… basking in the glow of your post election bliss…ahhh… don’t worry about how to actually run the damn country, there will be handlers all over the place to worry about that. You won’t have to really worry about anything….or think about anything. It’ll just be like being at home in Wasilla.

Well, I know you are busy brushing up on how to quickly tap into opening foreign markets in Southeast Asia, so I will end it here for now.

Safe travels, Sarah. And tell all the folks at Fox News we said hello.

     Very Truly Yours,

     Michael
