Gumbo Lily in the Gallery on Nov 17, 7 PM


    Gumbo Lily is a unique band from Carteret County that combines sounds from the sand and salt water of Coastal NC with the Western badlands. The band has performed at many coastal festivals and venues. Their performance features Pegie Douglas on vocals and guitar, Bobby Chandler on dobro and banjo, Andy Allen on acoustic stand-up bass, and Rebecca Marks on vocals and guitar. The band has a warm energetic sound, and brings many of your favorite traditional tunes to the stage. They also perform original songs, bluegrass, country and folk tunes. Ronnie McDowell, Country Star Comes to the Turnage, Nov 18


    Following the death of Elvis Presley in 1977, Ronnie McDowell came out of nowhere to dazzle the world with his heartfelt and self-penned tribute song "The King Is Gone" on the independent Scorpion label. The record took off immediately, gaining airplay on country and pop stations across the country and around the world. To date, "The King Is Gone" has sold more than 5 Million copies.Ronnie McDowell charted a string of hit singles and albums for Epic between 1979 and 1986. Every single release with the exception of just one became a Top 10 Hit including the chart toppers "Older Women" and "You're Gonna Ruin My Bad Reputation." Other hits during his Epic years included "Watchin Girls Go By," "Personally," "You Made A Wanted Man Of Me," "All Tied Up," and "In A New York Minute." Comedy for a Cause - Nov 19, 6:30 PM


    AOP is hosting fundraisers for local causes to support our community. On November 19 come by for some laughs and support the city pool at 6:30 PM. Tickets $5 and donations to the pool appreciated.

    Tinsel Almost Sorta Saves Christmas is a farcical comedy where Santa owes money to the Easter Bunny Mafia. The elf Tinsel is here to save the day...well sort of. Santa sends Tinsel on a quest to find the money to pay back the Easter Bunny, or just get him out of the way for a while so Santa make up for lost time. Other holidays get involved, there is a bank robbery, and a surprise ending; what more could you want from a holiday farce. $10 for show, $25 dinner/show on Dec. 17. Don't delay, dinner theater sold out in September. Dinner for the show is being provided by Washington Seafood, non seafood option available.
