    Mr. Robert Louis Peaden, age 71, a resident of 1462 Slatestone Road, Washington, died Sunday January 22, 2017 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday January 24, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Barbie. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Members of the Old Ford Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.

    Mr. Peaden was born in Pitt County on April 29, 1945 to the late Robert Wayne Peaden and Betty Griffin Peaden. On November 30, 1985 he married Margie Barker who survives. Mr. Peaden was employed with A & P for 9 years, Shop Eze Foodland for 18 years and retired from Frischkorn Carolina after 17 years of service. He served on the Old Ford Fire Department for 20 years.

    Survivors include his wife Margie B. Peaden of the home, Robbie Peaden, Jr. and wife Stacey, Melissa Peaden, Sherry Jefferson and husband Jesse and Ray Lewis, Jr. all of Washington, five grandchildren, Samantha Minton, Phillip Peaden, Jessica Jefferson, Jesselyn Jefferson, Miranda Peaden, one brother, William Anthony Peaden and two sisters, Phyllis Beck and Barbara Berry. He was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Wayne Peaden.

    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
