    Mr. John Clyde Grooms, Jr., age 46, a resident of Washington, passed away Monday June 25, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday June 28, 2018 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of his in laws, Robert and Gay Carraway, 85 York Street, Washington.

    Mr. Grooms was born June 18, 1972 in Charleston County, South Carolina to the late John Clyde Grooms Sr. and Alvilda Moore Grooms who survives. He was a salesman with Coca-Cola and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his two boys. On August 20, 2016 he married Laura Elizabeth Carraway who survives.

    Along with his wife and mother, survivors include, two sons, Nathan Grooms, Logan Grooms, two brothers, Larry Alexander, Calvin Grooms and wife Amber, three sisters, Faye Quidley and husband Bobby, Darlene Woolard, Carol Lopez and many nieces and nephews.

    In lieu flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart/ American Stroke Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.
