    Mrs. Ruth Ellen Hicks Warner, age 74, a resident of 1270 Slatestone Road, Washington, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at her home.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.

    Ruth was born in Miami, Florida on September 3, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Theodore Yow Hicks and Marie Brooks Hicks. Ruth was a retired secretary with the Beaufort County Building Inspections Office.

    Ruth is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Charlie Lee Warner, Jr. of the home; four children, Kathy (Chris) Jones of Southern Pines, C.T. (Kathy) Dupree of Washington, Stephen (Rachel) Warner of Farmville, Tim Warner (Becky) of Blounts Creek; eight grandchildren, Brittany (Wayne) Unkefer, Alyssa and Casey Jones, Jonathan and Tori Dupree, Lee (Jullian), Andrew and Martha Warner; four great grandchildren, Rilen and Emma Unkefer, Trenton and Jackson Warner; two sisters, Kay (Willard) Jones of Bristow, VA, Fay (Charlie) Isenock of Summerfield, N.C.; and sister in law, Lou Deppa of Florida.

    In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlie and Maude Warner and a son, Michael Todd Warner.
