WATCH: Judge Jeanine Pirro Triggers Whoopi Goldberg: 'You Are Suffering From Trump Derangement Syndrome!' | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's note: This informational nugget was sent to me by Ben Shapiro, who represents the Daily Wire, and since this is one of the most topical news events, it should be published on BCN.

This post was written by Amanda Prestigiacomo @AMANDAPRESTO.

On Thursday, things got contentious at "The View" when ardent Trump defender and Fox News personality Judge Jeanine Pirro told co-host Whoopi Goldberg that she's "suffering from 'Trump Derangement Syndrome.'"

The heated segment began with Pirro discussing the "deep state" efforts to oust President Donald Trump - as she chronicled in her book "Liars, Leakers and Liberals" - before she was interrupted by alleged "Republican" and GOP strategist Ana Navarro. "Do you believe Trump embraces and embodies conservative ideology?" Navarro asked the judge.

Pirro dismissed the question and directed the ladies of "The View" to the prosperous economy. "You wanna talk about Donald Trump?" she asked. "You tell me what metric in this country is worse off. Unemployment is lower than it's been in fifty years; minorities, Hispanics, African-American have jobs ... The GDP under Obama was barely 1 [percent]; we're going up to 4 [percent]."

As Pirro was speaking glowingly of the Trump economy, and not so glowingly of liberal hero Barack Obama's failed policies, Goldberg was trying to cut into the conversation to ask a question.

But things didn't go as planned.

"You are suffering from 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'" Pirro said, pointing directly at Goldberg.

"Did you just point at me?" asked a hot Goldberg.

    Pirro responded, "Yes."

"Listen, I don't have 'Trump Derangement.' Let me tell you what I have," Goldberg started in. "I'm tired of people starting a conversation with 'Mexicans are liars and rapists.' I'm tired of people starting a conversation about this country. Listen, I'm 62 years old. There have been a lot of people in office that I didn't agree with, but I have never, ever seen anything like this. I have never seen anybody whip up such hate. I have never seen anybody be so dismissive."

Goldberg continued, telling Pirro she "clearly" doesn't "watch the show." "I don't suffer from that," she claimed. "What I suffer from is the inability to figure out how to fix this. That's my issue."

Finally getting to her question, Goldberg asked, "How long has the deep state been there, and who is running it?"

"Well, I want to answer your question," answered Pirro. "Your opening statement, which is how horrible it is that Donald Trump is talking about all of these people ... Whoopi, you know what's horrible? When people who shouldn't be here end up murdering the children of American citizens."

Goldberg totally lost it: "You know what's horrible is when the President of the United States whips up people to beat the hell out of people. Say good bye. I'm done. I'm done," she said, before the show quickly went to commercial.

The co-host addressed the audience after her outburst, explaining that she rarely "loses her cool."

"So you saw me do something I very rarely do," she said. "I very rarely lose my cool, and I'm not proud of it and I don't like it. But I also don't like being accused of being hysterical, because that's one of the things I try not to be on this show."
