Press Release

    Shelter Full:

Washington High School is full and no longer accepting residents. PS Jones Middle School is open and available.

    Power Outages:

We have received many calls in our EOC reporting power outages. It seems that one of the networks, and we are uncertain which one, is pushing out our Emergency Operations Center (252-946-2046) as the point of contact for power outages. We are not. The proper channel is for the customer to call their power provider if it is a routine non-emergency outage. If they feel that there is danger or a hazardous condition being caused by the outage they should call 911.

Beaufort County Emergency Services Special Needs Hotline

Latest Governing Beaufort County

The city council has only made two official acts as of February 16, 2026
While this afternoon’s update once again included increased probabilities of moderate to major impacts, it will likely be tomorrow before we receive specific accumulation details.
Government and its bureaucracy are not perfect, and never has been in this self-governed society, here at the local level, at our state level, and at our federal level, therefore, it is incumbent upon all elected politicians to seek a comfortable level of representation for our constituents.
Beaufort County is implementing a new emergency alert system. All residents are encouraged to sign up to receive alerts via phone and email.

Has the local government acted responsibly and transparently?
Beaufort County Commissioners meet, and work by a majority vote to do the business of those constituents they purport to represent.
Waste, fraud, abuse and incompetence continue to govern county school budgets and decision making.

HbAD2

However, if one believes that Beaufort County government is in full command of the issues of our times, here locally, one might need to steel their resolve for a more perfect understanding of the intellect possessed by the Center-Left /Left Coalition.
To borrow a big phrase from this salient plan originating at the federal level, under President Trump's watchful eye, whose time has finally arrived, even here in the mispent realm of Beaufort County government(s).
We must vet, and elect those who will actually represent the people or we will be stuck with the same mess we have now.
