The Beaufort County Board of Education met for its regular monthly meeting on February 21. We have video from much of the meeting below.

The first clip includes the opening and in a change for former practice, included reports from the Personnel and Curriculum, Building and Grounds and the Minority Hiring Committees. These committees meet in the interim between full board meetings and do much of the board's business, which is then routinely approved on the consent agenda. Committee meetings are not video taped.

The second clip included the public recognition items on the agenda.

The next clip is simply a continuation of the one above, and includes the Clean School Award.

The following clips recognize the Science Olympiad teams from Bath Elementary, Northeast Elementary and Washington High School. A number of the members of the WHS team were not present but you can see a picture that includes more and the names at the WHS website. Washington High School has created an amazing record of performance in this competition.

The next two clips are presentations by BCS staff about new state "Common Core Standard" in mathematics.

We'll have more on the meeting later so please check back.
