Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine in Beaufort County | Eastern NC Now

News Release:

    On 3-1-2019, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit arrested Shawn Michael Smith, 27 years of age, of 1043 Zeke Rhodes Lane in Williamston and Justin Petrosky, 35 years of age, of 1043 Zeke Rhodes Lane in Williamston. Smith was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Petrosky was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

    Their arrest stemmed from Investigators receiving information that Smith was involved in the use and distribution of Methamphetamine. Investigators learned that Smith was living in Williamston and smuggling the Methamphetamine into Beaufort County.



    Investigators conducted a traffic stop on vehicle that Smith and Petrosky were traveling in from Williamston into Beaufort County. K-9 Bodi alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. A plastic bag containing marijuana, a marijuana cigarette and a digital scale was found inside the vehicle.

    Smith was searched before entering the Detention Center. Approximately 11 grams of Methamphetamine and a Glass Methamphetamine smoking pipe was found hidden in Smith's rectum.

    Smith was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $6,500.00 secured bond. Petrosky was released under a $3,000.00 unsecured bond.
