Mr. Stanley Donald Boden | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Stanley Donald Boden, age 81, a resident of Pamlico River Drive, Washington, formerly of Beaver, Pa., passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his home. A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church officiated by Father M. Arturo Cabra. The family will receive friends following the funeral mass at the Pamlico Plantation Club House. The family will also receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. followed by a rosary service beginning at 8 p.m. today at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 U.S. Highway 264 East, Washington. A service and burial will take place on Friday in Beaver, Pa.

    Stanley was born June 22, 1930, in Beaver Falls, Pa., son of the late Stanley Boden and Katherine Perkovich Boden. He graduated from Beaver High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy. Stanley married the former Claire Sallade, May 23, 1975, and worked as a construction electrician with IBEW L.U. 712, Beaver, Pa., for 40 years. He was a fireman, the fire chief and fire marshall in Center Township, Pa. After moving to Washington in 1999, Stanley worked to found Broad Creek EMS in 2002. He was a member of B.P.O.E. in Rochester, Pa., and Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Robert "Bobby" Boden (Denise) of Paris, Ky., and Scott Boden of Beaver, Pa.; his daughters, Deborah Pentz (Richard) of Beaver, Pa., Sandy Johnson (Ted) of Hookston, Pa., Susan Zeimetz (Scott) of Carolina Shores, Lynne Turnbull (Paul) of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Shari LeGoullon (Eric) of Morganton; his sister, Janet Bodnar of Gastonia; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Boden.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Stanley's memory be made to Broad Creek EMS, 7214 Broad Creek Road, Washington, NC 27889 or the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown St., Washington, NC 27889.
