    Mr. Harlen Junior Blackburn, age 91, a former resident of Highway 45 North, Belhaven, died Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Autumnfield of Belhaven.

    Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 19, 2019 at Mount Olive Church of Christ, Highway 264 East, Belhaven, conducted by Mike Caton. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

    His grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Britt Boyd, Bradley Boyd, Bradford Linton, Joshua Linton, Matthew Blackburn, Issaiah Blackburn, Parker Moore, and Austin Moore. Randy Clayton, Bobby Green, Mousey Broadwine, William Douglas Sawyer and Daniel Wilkins will serve as honorary pallbearers.

    Mr. Blackburn was born in Tazewell, Virginia on April 17, 1928. He was the son of the late George and Amelia Alley Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn was a retired farmer and mechanic. He was a member of Mount Olive Church of Christ.

    On June 14, 1947, he married the former Katherine Gladys Nunley, who preceded him in death, August 31, 2003.

    Mr. Blackburn is survived by four daughters, Shirley B. Stinson of Tazewell, VA, Kathy Boyd of Pantego, Drema Moore of Bath, Frances Wilkins of Smith Shores; five sons, Lee Blackburn of Burks Garden, VA, Jerry Blackburn of Tazewell, VA, John Blackburn of Pantego, Ricky Blackburn and Jody Howery both of Bath; two brothers, Howard Blackburn and Cecil Blackburn both of Haymarket, VA; 27 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Blackburn was preceded in death by a son, Ray Blackburn; two sisters, Nettie Hackett and Ellen Rector; three brothers, David, Roger and Ed Blackburn; and two grandsons.

    The family will receive friends form 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven and other times at the home of his daughter, Kathy Boyd, 455 Maple Street, Pantego.
