    Mark E. Sanders, 63, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Washington Funeral & Cremation Hillside Chapel located at 4500 US-264 E, Washington, NC 27889. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm with a service at 7:00 pm.

    Mark was a United States Navy Diver, a loving father, husband, brother, and friend. He was skilled in many areas such as business development, IT, and craftsmanship. Mark was President Emeritus of the Wall Street Technology Association. As a licensed boat captain, he loved the outdoors, fishing, skiing, and being on the water. His love for the outdoors and sea life continues with his children who also love adventures around the world. He also had a strong appreciation for many genres of music, spending time with his wife, Schalea, at numerous concerts, theatre shows, and traveling around the globe.

    Mark was very proud of his wife, Schalea Sanders, and her accomplishments as an author, professor, entrepreneur, and Educational Consultant. He will be remembered by all as a mentor, a leader, and someone who always had an unforgettable smile, and contagious laugh.

    Mark was predeceased by his grandparents, Lillian and Samuel Sanders, father, Leonard Sanders, mother, Regine Rosetti, and brothers, Ronald and Gary Stuto.

    He is survived by his son's Sam and Steven Sanders, wife, Schalea Sanders, daughter in-laws, Adina Sanders and Michelle Donovan, daughter, Christina Sanders, stepsons, Isaiah Scott and Michael Preston, sisters Dalida Tayler and Darlene Nagel, sister-in-laws Kelley Sanders and Judy Stuto, brothers Michael Sanders and Ralph Stuto, brother-in-laws Sal Petruso and Bruce Nagel, nieces and nephews Skylar, Nolan, Lilly, Charlotte, and mother, Dolores Sanders.

    Flowers are welcome. Donations in honor of Mark Sanders to the North Carolina Estuarium, 223 E. Water Street, Washington, NC 27889 are also appreciated.
