   These latest two announcements from the Northside High School, via the Beaufort County School System, reminds us that schools are a focal point of activity.

Northside High School Science Olympiad Team Competes



    The Northside High School Science Olympiad Team competed at the North Carolina Science Olympiad Regional Tournament at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. The following students received medals at the tournament:

    2nd Place

      Forensics     Cameron Bowen & Gavin Sterrenberg

      Write It, Do It     Cameron Bowen & Sarah Lee

    3rd Place

      Towers     Sierra Swain & Hayden Tankard

      Water Quality     Savannah Bunn & Jenna Smith

Job Shadow Participants



   On February 23, Northside High School students participated in The Washington -Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce Job Shadow Day, sponsored by PotashCorp. Students were able to spend the morning observing various mentors to assist in choosing a potential career path.

WASHINGTON, NC— Beaufort County Community College has eight-week, online "Late-Start" courses starting March 6.
A new scholarship will help more North Carolina families attend university and offer them debt-free community college.

WASHINGTON, NC— The Beaufort County Community College Foundation received a $40,000 donation from the First Annual Belhaven Trout Tournament and Festival.
