Diane Rufino responds to those whose anger has been piqued by her advocacy for only heterosexual marriage, part II | Eastern NC Now

Redefining marriage is an act of social engineering that will have disastrous effects for humanity. It undermines the whole "survival of the fittest" notion and will weaken the integrity of communities designed to serve the interests of a developing and an advancing civilization.

Publisher's note: Once again, Diane Rufino has angered those people whom have zealously advocated for same sex marriage. Diane has written a number of position pieces stating well her position that marriage should be between one man and one woman. Her extensive knowledge on her position has become the grist to fuel the vitriolic comments against her person.

This the second rebuttal commentary by Mrs. Rufino. The first was on May 15th.

Redefining marriage is an act of social engineering that will have disastrous effects for humanity. It undermines the whole "survival of the fittest" notion and will weaken the integrity of communities designed to serve the interests of a developing and an advancing civilization. You don't advance a civilization by introducing factors that destroy marriage, the proper raising of children, and social and moral values. You don't advance a civilization by encouraging a lifestyle that can unleash all kinds of new diseases on an unwitting population that has no natural defenses to them.

Sexual perversions have always led to the downfall of empires and individuals. Just look at Rome, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the assistant coach for Penn State football (Sandusky), just to name a few. When individuals start looking out only for their own good and put too much emphasis on pleasure rather than the good of community in general, then we have serious problems.

God who gave us individual liberties also gave us instruction and guidelines on how to exercise those freedoms. The Ten Commandments. The Bible. Guidelines are intended for the good of society and keep humans restrained and disciplined in their conduct - in their thoughts and deeds. It keeps them closer to God and helps keep them better able to love and serve their neighbor. People who are disciplined in their personal life can be expected to be disciplined in business and in politics. They can be expected to be better spouses and parents. With greater discipline in all of these important positions(spouse, parent, businessman, politician), we begin to see how to strengthen our country and the ideals it was founded on.
