The state convention of the North Carloina Republican Party overwhelmingly adopted a resolution blasting weak "Republicans" who help put Democrats into appointed offices, politicians like appointed commissioners John Rebholz, who although a nominal "Republican" voted for left wing Democrat kingpin Jerry Langley for Beaufort County Commission vice chairman over the Republican nominee for that slot as one of his first votes on the commission.

The resolution is on the state GOP website and I have confirmed that it passed the convention.

"It is extremely harmful and destructive to the growth of the Republican Party of NC and the growth of our local county parties if a Republican elected official fails to consider qualified Republicans for .. appointments and instead appoints a registered Democrat" the resolution says. It further suggests that the GOP withhold support for any candidates running as Republicans who do that. John Rebholz is a clear example of one such backstabber.
