Dr. John Cowan, a surgeon running in Georgia's 14th Congressional district was boomed as the frontrunner in the runoff for the heavily Republican open seat. An establishment Republican, Cowan had the united and vocal support of the DC swamp as well as their financial resources. Pressure from the swamp even led a couple of prominent conservatives to walk back endorsements of the other candidate in the race, conservative businesswoman Marjorie Greene.

Cowan stated that he had no problem with removing Confederate monuments, and Greene painted this as being out of step with north Georgia Republicans. That helped wake up the average voters to the differences between the candidates.

When the smoke cleared on primary runoff night, Greene had beaten the widely presumed "frontrunner" Cowan in a landslide, 57% to 43%. Voters rejected the swamp and its anti-history creature Cowan

Eastern NC has our own Dr. John Cowan in Dr. Greg Murphy. Where is our Marjorie Greene?

Hmmm, interesting. Glad this one in Georgia went down in flames. From my perspective, politicians excel at one thing: talking out both sides of their mouths. Whether politicians are local, state, or national, we as constituents should pay attention to their actions and hold their feet to the fire. Most of them are aware of the word "transparency," but fail to practice it. Back room deals are the norm and constituents suffer the consequences.
