There are Lies and Trickery Afoot in Beaufort County by a Scheming Political Group | Eastern North Carolina Now

    I am now discovering that there is a new local political movement afoot to cast aspersions against me as a Beaufort County Commissioner, and as a service provider of extreme quality for online platforms; even gossiping that my company is the "Webmaster" for the Beaufort County government's website, which is false.

    This new initiative of local "Fake News" (by mouth and Facebook), distributed by whatever nefarious group organized, is to cast doubt against work that I did for the county's government, or may need to do in the future regarding their website, which my company, Symbiotic Networks, built some years back by employing our proprietary Symbiotic Core CMS (content management system).

    The truly hypocritical point by this pointless political group, which they undeniably are, is that many of their members will espouse to "shop local", while not really enacting that thesis themselves on any regular or real basis. I know this to be partly true ... maybe, fully true in some cases.

    I answered one such poor argument against me (in a Facebook post), as both a politician and purevyor of fine products, in that same Facebook post as a retort of real truth to confront that politically biased group, this way:

    "My company is not the site's webmaster; we built the site over four years ago. The county IT staff administers the site.

    I was not a commissioner then. additionally, when I decided to run for county commissioner, I got this issue cleared through the North Carolina Institute of Government, where they cited general statute which clears me of having done work for the county in any conflict status. The only way this would be a conflict, at any point, would be if I voted on any specific item regarding me being paid money.

    Now that you know this truth: Know that no one in this region can do work at the level we do it. Beaufort County government has by far the best website it has ever had, and the site is one of the top 3 sites to ever exist from Beaufort County.

    The other two ahead of the county government site, in overall quality, we also built - beaufortcountynow.com | https://www.beaufort.k12.nc.us/. The status of Beaufort County's site existing in a tertiary position in comparative quality is due to the fact that we act as admin for the two sites that are of a finer rank.

    Would you rather the county government use someone from outside the county to build their site, pay more money for the work performed, and still get a lesser product and service?

    Now ... do we still have an issue here?"

    In closing, I have always embraced truth and an open profession of what I know to be real as the greatest antiseptic to lies and misinformation that is so often sullied about by motivated groups with some nefarious, self-serving agenda. I will always answer such as soon and as capably as I am able at that time, while remaining professional and fully honest. I expect all others to do the same, and I will hold them to such.
