The Central Committee of the Wyoming Republican Party has voted overwhelmingly to censure Congresswoman Liz Cheney and demand her resignation from Congress over Cheney's vote to impeach President Trump and her related statements.  The party Central Committee passed the resolution by a vote of 66 to 8.

“Representative Cheney has violated the trust of her voters, failed to faithfully represent a very large majority of motivated Wyoming voters, and neglected her duty to represent the party and the will of the people who elected her to represent them," the resolution declared.

Cheney's primary challenger for 2022, conservative State Senator Anthony Bouchard was present at the party meeting.  A recent poll showed Bouchard over 30 points ahead of Cheney.

Cheney has refused to resign.

In South Carolina, the state Republican Central Committee has also overwhelmingly voted to censure Congressman Tom Rice who also voted for Trump's impeachment.  The censure move originated from Republican leaders in Rice's own district, and names are already floating for a major primary opponent in 2022..
