Democrats clobbered in Texas special election | Eastern NC Now

 

Texas' 6th Congressional district was one that Nancy Pelosi thought she could flip to Democrat in a special election after its GOP congressman died, but when the votes were counted, no Democrat even made the runoff.  Under Texas special election procedures, the two top candidates move on to the runoff, and voters sent two Republicans to the runoff, completely shutting out the Democrats.  The top finisher in the primary and favorite in the runoff is the late congressman's widow, Susan Wright, who was endorsed by President Trump.  She will face GOP State Representative Jake Ellzey, who finished second.

 

 

Also in that primary, a well financed Never Trumper who had RINO Congressman Adam Kinzinger come to the district to stump for him, embarrassed both himself and Kinzinger by finishing way down the list in low single digits.
