    Our office is currently monitoring the potential for severe weather later today. Please see the email below and attached briefing from the National Weather Service for details.

    We also encourage everyone to continue to monitor local media outlets for any updates, watches and / or warnings that may be issued.

    As always, thank you all for what you do to keep Beaufort County prepared and safe.

    There is now a Slight (level 2/5) threat of severe weather for all of eastern North Carolina for later this afternoon and evening. The main threats are strong gusty winds and possible large hail. The timing is from roughly 5-6 pm through about midnight.
