McCarthy taps amnesty fan to craft 2022 GOP immigration message

GOP House leader Kevin McCarthy, an establishment Republican in the Boehner / Ryan mold, has named New York Congressman John Katko, a corporate Republican with a long history of support for expanding legal immigration and giving amnesty to illegal aliens, as head of a team to craft the GOP message on immigration for the 2022 election. Most recently Katko was one of a handful of Republicans who voted for a bill pushed by Mark Zuckerburg to reward H-B2 ivsa workers with American citizenship.  Only one member named to the committee is a staunch opponent of illegal migration.

Polls show concern about illegal immigration is very high among voters and they want secure borders and no amnesty.  McCathy seems to be tone deaf on key issues and throwing away an issue that could be decisive in winning a GOP majority in 2022.

This is an example of why we need to send Congressment to DC who will fight hard to change the out of touch GOP leadership with good conservatives.  Unfortunately, the current Congressman from the 3rd district is in McCarthy's hip pocket.
