conservative Budd is endorsed by President Trump

ENCNow

Conservative Congressman Ted Budd has opened a big fundraising lead among the three major candidates in the Republican primary for US Senate for 2022.  Recently filed campaign finance reports showed Budd with $1.7 million cash on hand, with McCrory second with $900,000, and Walker a distant third.  Budd did particularly well among small contributors from North Carolina, always a positive sign for a campaign.

Ted Budd has been endorsed for US Senate by President Trump.  McCrory has been endorsed by liberal outgoing Senator Richard Burr, who was recently censured by the NC Republican Central Committee.  Walker has been endorsed by former House Speaker Paul Ryan, long a thorn in the side of President Trump.

Budd has also been endorsed by the two most important national conservative PAC's which support conservative Senate candidates, the Senate Conservatives Fund and the Club for Growth.  The latter has announced that it has amassed a warchest of over $5 million to support Budd's candidacy, separate and apart from the money Budd's own campaign has raised.
