Biden left behind Afghan interpreter who saved his life | Eastern NC Now

There were 88,000 SIVs, Afghans who helped the US army or embassy, identified who were entitled to be brought out.  Only 6,000 to 7,000 were evacuated although 110,000 other Afghans not on the SIV lists were put on the planes out.  One of those SIV Afghans that Biden left behind was an Afghan interpreter who helped save the lives of three US Senators, including Biden himself, in 2008.

"Hello, Mr. President, please save me and my family" Mohammed the interpreter pleaded. "Don't forget me here.  I can't leave the house.  I am very scared".  Mohammed, his wife and four children had reached the gates of the Kabul airport on one try, only to be turned away.  US soldiers who served with Mohammed said that he had assisted the US forces in over 100 firefights with the Taliban.

The incident with Biden happened in 2008 when three US Senators including Biden were flying on two Blackhawk helicopters and were forced to land behind enemy lines in a blinding snowstorm.  Mohammed was with a team from the 82nd Airborne who travelled overland three hours to rescue Biden and the two other Senators.

This is how a lowlife like Joe Biden repays a man who helped save his life.  One wonders if Mohammed and his family are still among the living.
