Citizens make presentation to Beaufort School Board opposing Critical Race Theory | Beaufort County Now | Ask the board to adopt a policy prohibiting the teaching of CRT

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

At the October 5 Beaufort Board of Education meeting the Beaufort Citizens for Better Government made a presentation to the board asking them to adopt a policy prohibiting the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the Beaufort County Schools.

The presentation was presented at the monthly planning session on October 5, 2021. We were granted ten minutes to address the board. We requested to be placed on the agenda for this presentation and this was granted.

Public interaction with the school board during their scheduled meetings in tightly regulated both by the topic of the presentations and the time allotted to make the presentations. The NC General Statutes mandates that public comments must be allowed at regularly scheduled public meetings, but leaves the board to set the guidelines. We signed up to make public comments during the board’s monthly business meeting in September, but were denied the right to speak because of the 12-minute limit allotted for public comments.

Critical Race Theory teaches that all the institutions of local, state, and federal government are designed to oppress people of color and the white Americans of European descent are the oppressors.

School board members are elected by the people. The citizens must let them know they do not approve of their callous attitude toward the citizens and taxpayers for which they work.

The documents given to the board prior to the October 5, 2021 meeting are available below.

We should not only be objecting to the Marxist CRT, but also demanding promotion of wholesome, unifying concepts like Dr. Martin Luther King's principles of a colorblind society, as he said in his "I have a dream" speech that people should be viewed on "the content of their character, not the color of their skin". Stop the bad, but also promote the good.

In stopping Critical Race Theory, it is necessary to dig much deeper than just that term, because its advocates are now teaching its substance while claiming it is "not CRT". If the buzzwords of CRT are being used, then it is probably CRT whatever they may claim.

The most common buzzwords of CRT are "diversity" and "inclusiveness". The way those words have commonly been used, they are indeed positive, but the CRT people have employed a sort of Orwellian "Newspeak" to twist those terms into something opposite of their usual meanings. In CRT usage, they do NOT mean including everybody. They mean including only the select groups and discriminating against others. In CRT usage the terms can even mean the totalitarian tactic of book burning, which is exactly what a school district in Ontario, Canada did. They even made a video of burning 4,700 books from their school libraries saying this demonstrated "inclusiveness" and urging students to go home and burn books.

Then there is the term "anti-racist". Most of society views racism as a bad thing, so on the surface anti-racism would appear to be a good thing. However, the CRT advocates have struck again with another Orwellian Newspeak distortion. In their lexicon, "anti-racism" now advocates discrimination against certain races and other groups. At a recent UN conference on "Anti-racism", the Foreign Minister of Iran got up and advocated the "total eradication" of the Jews. He was not even called down for his statement by other participants. That is "anti-racism" that Hitler would have approved.

Of course, there are the outright racist terms like "white privelege" and "whiteness" being tossed around by CRT advocates. There are also far left ideological terms like "social justice" and "environmental justice".

A new term concocted by the CRT mob is "equity" which means the same as Karl Marx's assertion in the Communist Manifesto that society should be organized on a basis of government enforcing the concept of "from those according to their ability; to those according to their need." This government dictated policy of equality of result is the exact opposite of free society's concept of equality of opportunity.

Any of these terms, and some others like "systemic racism" are red flags that CRT is being indoctrinated.

Article:
Last week, the nonprofit National School Boards Association (NSBA) wrote a letter to the Biden administration claiming that public school officials are “facing physical threats because of propaganda purporting the false inclusion of critical race theory within classroom instruction and curricula.”

The NSBA also wrote to the Biden Admin., “As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”

So now all of you concerned parents, Who do not want your children's head filled with socialist mush, are Domestic Terrorist. If so, I am proud to be one. We need to know what is being taught and what the books look like. To do this, you will have to get involved. Go to School Board meeting and visit you child's class room. Find out what School Board members do between meetings.
