West's CO2 net zero crusade plays into hands of Red China | Eastern NC Now

Red China is supplying most of the wind turbines and solar panels for western countries and is active supporting "green energy" here while it builds hundreds of new coal fired power plants for itself.  China wants the economic advantage of cheap and reliable electric power while helping climate alarmists foist expensive and unreliable wind and solar electricity on Europe and North America.  Foolish and short sighted western politicians seem hell bent on helping China do it and putting us at a permanent economic disadvantage to Red China.  The upcoming COP26 is like a suicide pact for western economies.

As a recent article in American Thinker put it, "China loves Net Zero, using its growing coal power to manufacture the wind turbines, solar panels, electric engines, and rare earth batteries for the woke world".

While President Trump stood firm against this nonsense, we now have too many establishment Republicans selling out to the climate alarmists and their Red Chinese buddies, as the NC Republican legislative leadership just did in imposing the Green New Deal on our state with their rewritten HB951.  That horrible piece of legislation will cause massive electric rate increases for our people and slash the reliability of our electric grid.

The immediate past President of the Czech Republic, Dr. Vaclav Klaus, hit the nail on the head when he described climate alarmism as "a budding totalitarian ideology that is the greatest threat to freedom, democracy, and prosperity in the world today." Shamefully Phil Berger and Tim Moore have climbed onboard this totalitarian train, and too many GOP legislative lemmings followed them over the cliff.
