Youngkin and GOP win Virginia | Eastern NC Now

flip governor, lt. governor, atty. general, and House of Delegates

ENCNow

Most of the media is now calling the Virginia governor's race for Republican Glenn Youngkin, as well as for the GOP candidates for lieutenant governor and attorney general.  Republicans also lead for 15 Democrat held seats in the House of Delegates, the lower house of the legislature and only need to flip 6 of them to regain a majority there. The state senate is not up for election this year.

With 2,421 of the state's 2,858 precincts counted, Youngkin leads Democrat McAuliffe 53% to 45%,  while the GOP lead for lieutenant governor and attorney general are 53% to 46%.

This is great news for the GOP in building for the 2022 midterm elections.
