School board passes toothless CRT resolution from Cheeseman | Eastern NC Now

not enforcable

ENCNow

Beaufort County's Board of Education turned to its top bureaucrat, Superintendent Cheeseman for a resolution on CRT after months of stalling, and as expected it was a nothingburger.  By refusing to adopt it as a policy, there is no way to enforce it.  They only hope that teachers will follow it.  Further, it only partly described what constitutes Critical Race Theory.

The board is supposed to make policy and the superintendent carry it out, but somehow it is the superintendent making policy and doing it in a way to try to sweep this issue under the rug.  It is shameful that the board did not send it back to be properly rewritten, or even better, take the initiative to write it themselves.
