Biden: ‘Did You Ever Think You’d Be Paying This Much For A Gallon Of Gas?’ | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Democrat President Joe Biden made several interesting remarks that went viral on social media Wednesday afternoon as he spoke at the Port of Baltimore on the bipartisan infrastructure bill.

    Simmering in the background of the event was the devastating economic news from earlier in the day that inflation rates skyrocketed to levels that were worse than expected for the month of October, hitting 6.2%, the highest year-over-year surge in more than 30 years.

    Biden rambled about people going to McDonald's to use the internet with the kids, asking, "if you don't live in an area where you have high-speed Internet you can afford, how many times have you driven your kids to the parking lot of McDonald's and sat there going off the McDonald's Internet so you could hear?

    "No, I'm not joking," Biden declared. "Think of this - the United States of America, for God's sake."

    "And according to the economic experts, this bill is going to ease inflationary pressures, lowering the cost to working families," Biden claimed. Seventeen - excuse me - yeah, 17 Nobel laureates in economics wrote a letter to me about 10 days ago saying this is going to affect - bring inflation down, not up."

    The Washington Post's fact-checker questioned Biden's characterization about what the 17 Nobel winners had to say about his plan.

    Biden continued by making the following claims about the supply chain crisis:

    Last month, I reached a deal with two of the largest ports in America - the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach. And I met with you guys, with the longshoremen there, and we worked out a deal between the port owners and the longshoremen to move toward operating those two ports.

    Forty percent of everything in the Pacific comes through those two ports. And they're lined up - ships are lined up 70-some lined up out as far as you could see. So they all agreed they're going to go 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

    It's already paying off. Last week, the number of container ships in the docks for more than nine days fell by over 20 percent.

    What Biden did not mention was that a record number of container ships, 111, were documented floating outside of those two ports, according to Markets Insider.

    The number of ships stuck off the coast of California hit a new record yesterday.

    Biden continued by talking about surging costs and rising fuel prices, asking, "Did you ever think you'd be paying this much for a gallon of gas?"

    "In some parts of California, they're paying $4.50 a gallon," Biden said, apparently unaware that the highest prices in the state of California are more than $7 per gallon.

Inarguably, the policies of the Democrats in congress and Joe Biden as the Executive is plunging the United States into a recession, if we are not already there; a recession that was completely avoidable. Will abrupt changes in policies occur in time?
