his seat may be GOP pickup

ENCNow

Congressman G.K. Butterfield (D-NC) has announced his retirement.  Butterfield's 1st district for many years included part of Beaufort County but currently does not.  On the redistricting map that has been adopted, the district is renumbered as the 2nd district and goes from a lean Democrat district to a marginal and competitive district.
