Question: Are We That Stupid? | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Recently I received an email from a very worried senior citizen. She forwarded a poster to me and asked me, "Can this really be true?" The poster was of Obama saying, "Some people say I'm Stupid. Really? Here's how stupid I am:

    "I was hired by over 69 million voters who didn't even do a routine background check on me. I'm doing a lousy, stinking job, with a record number of people out of work. I gave guns to Mexican drug gangs, I kill innocent people all over the world with drone strikes, and I decide which laws I'm going to enforce and which ones I won't.

    I've doubled the deficit. I've ruined our health care system. And yet I still stand an excellent chance of being rehired. That's how stupid I am. Now, How Stupid Are You?"

    That's a good question because in spite of the fact that this administration failed miserably in not securing our embassies and State personnel on 9/11 before Ambassador Stevens and others were brutally assassinated, poll numbers show Obama leading Romney in swing states.

    The media and his sycophants are still covering for this foreign policy disaster. When it was pointed out that Obama hadn't bothered to attend intelligence briefings, National Security Council spokesman, Tommy Vietor told Marc Thiessen of the Washington Post that Obama didn't need to because he was "among the most sophisticated consumers of intelligence on the planet." Oh really?

    When the entire Middle East Arab world exploded, President Obama went to Las Vegas in vigorous campaign mode. He fundraised with Beyonce and scheduled David Letterman while refusing to meet with Israeli PM Netanyahu. He expects to be reelected and if he is the answer to my headline's question is a resounding YES!!!

    My friend can't believe all the polls and articles showing that Obama will win in November. "How can this be," she asked. "Have we all gone mad?" She is a Jewish New Yorker who relocated to Florida and she also wondered how any Jew could possibly vote for Democrats after watching their true colors ranting against Israel at their convention.

    With less than two months away from Election Day, I could certainly understand her consternation when the latest polls show Obama up 5 points in Ohio, an important swing state. There appears to be a proliferation of articles that predict a favorable outcome for Obama but I refuse to fall for what looks to me to be a leftwing "psych attack". I refuse to believe that Americans are as dumb as posts or that we are turning into an idiocracy. What is more likely is that Obama's allies in the mainstream media are doing all they can to demoralize those who plan to vote for Mitt Romney. Polls can be manipulated and I learned firsthand how that can be done.

    I usually opt out of taking polls by telling the caller that I am a member of the media but this one time I didn't because I was curious as to what type of questions were being asked. Conservative responses were answered by pressing '1' on the telephone. The '2' responses were reserved for liberal responses except when it came to the question about voting for Obama. The choice for this selection was '1' not '2'. Now why was this poll set up like this unless it was rigged for Obama to garner conservative votes?

    We get polls that report that likely voters would prefer to dine with Obama rather than Romney and another ridiculous one asserting that people believe that Obama would beat Romney in a fistfight. Obviously those polled never saw Obama throw out a baseball nor do they know about Romney's fistfight in Paris when he was younger.

    Besides the lapdog media shilling for the Democrats, the other mechanism in place is voter fraud. A Maryland Democrat, Wendy Rosen, had to quit her race because she was accused by her own party of voter fraud in the past. A new report released in February found that 1.5 million dead people are currently registered to vote but attempts by states to update their rolls are being met by resistance by the Justice Department under the pretense that such activity would disenfranchise minority votes.

    When I was first eligible to vote one had to be 21 and there was no such thing as motor voter registration or early voting. Absentee ballots were given only to people who would not be home to vote. In other words, one had to make some effort to cast a vote on Election Day. There are no statistics available to prove that making it easier to register to vote increases participation but it does make it so much easier for voter fraud with ineligible voters casting ballots sometimes in exchange for cash.

    There was enormous voter fraud uncovered in 2000 yet no charges were ever made nor was there any effort to monitor succeeding elections. Votes were cast for Al Gore by college students voting multiple times, homeless vagrants voting for cigarettes, nursing home patients with dementia somehow had their signatures on ballots cast for the Vice President.

    In 2012, besides malfeasance at the polls, the best chance that Obama has to be reelected is the psych-out by the mainstream media. We can expect more and more gloom and doom forecasts for Mitt Romney from Obama's trusted allies in the New York Times and MSNBC. If I read an article affirming an Obama victory, I look at the writer's byline and if I see Maureen Dowd, E.J. Dionne, Paul Krugman, or any of the MSNBC anchors, I look in vain for any sense of objectivity or fact-based research. The major networks, ABC, CBS, NBC and the cable networks CNN, MSNBC have in the most part ceded any journalistic integrity. I find that only ABC's Jake Tapper is consistently honest and a reliable reporter unafraid to challenge the White House spins.

    Although I did everything I could to allay the fears of my elderly friend, the truth is I can't explain away what appears to be the gullibility of many Democrat voters. Ben Shapiro of Front Page Magazine was at the Democrat convention and was stunned by what he called in his column, "the willful blindness" of the delegates assembled there.

    Most of those assembled cheering for the high-strung, hysterical rants calling for women's right to choose abortion and birth control aid by taxpayers should have been demanding speeches about repairing the economy. Instead I watched their faces rapt in awe at the false promises and downright lies and yet these same people are the ones most hurt by Obama's job-killing policies.

    Are these people just dumb or are they just being deliberately misinformed by a treasonous media? It's up to us to get the message of truth to them. Spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube. Go viral. Don't despair but for goodness sake - do something.
