Texas signs agreement for latest section of border wall | Eastern NC Now

Starr County wall section will be second major segment of wall

ENCNow

Texas has moved rapidly on building its first major segment of border wall with Mexico in the Del Rio sector, where the state already owned highway land adjacent to the border.  Now to further keep illegal aliens and drug smugglers out, the state has signed agreements to build another major segment of border wall at the southern tip of Texas to block major smuggling routes into Starr County.  The new segment will involve most of the Texas / Mexico border in Starr County.  In this case, the land involved is large farms belonging to the Texas Land Commission, and Land Commissioner George P. Bush has signed an agreement with Governor Abbott's administration to authorize building the wall segment.
