Whale advocates fight to stop offshore wind turbines | Eastern NC Now

Two groups claiming to be environmentalists fight each other

ENCNow

Save the whales - stop the wind turbines.  Two "environmentalist" groups are at war with each other.

The climate alarmists have a tunnel vision that other issues should be ignored in order to blanket the land and seas with wind and solar farms.  Many other environmentalists who care about things like wildlife habitat, deforestation, toxic waste, endangered species, bird and bat slaughter, and now critically endangered Atlantic Right Whales, say otherwise.

A new coalition has been formed to stop the industrialization of the coastal Atlantic ocean with wind turbines because they are a threat to the critically endangered Atlantic Right Whale.  Climate alarmists Joe Biden and Roy Cooper have been among the cheerleaders for planting forests of wind turbines off the Atlantic coast.

In Germany, successful lawsuits are often stopping wind farm construction on land, and while a growing number of those suits cite human health issues, the majority of them are still being filed by environmentalists opposed to the environmental harm caused by wind turbines.

For electric consumers, wind farms are also a huge threat to our electric bills, as wind turbines, especially those offshore, are a very expensive way to make electricity.  The New York Daily News reported earlier this year that a new contract by the Long Island Power Authority to buy wind turbine electricity was paying four and a half times as much wholesale as conventional electricity was costing them.  Why buy this expensive white elephant except to "virtue signal" to the green left?  Why should electric consumers be forced to pay for that?
