Poland accuses Germany of using EU to create 4th Reich | Eastern NC Now

Echoing Hungarians who have been calling a power hungry EU the "EUSSR", Poland's Deputy Prime Minister has openly accused Germany of trying to use the EU to create a "Fourth Reich".  Germany's new Social Democrat led government has set one of its goals to be helping create a federal EU, taking powers from national governments.  Poland is one of the European countries that has staunchly defended its national sovereignty against continuing EU encroachment.

The EU is a fundamentally undemocratic construct with its powerful European Commission being unelected and not subject to open and transparent meetings.  Recent disputes between the EU and Poland have included issues dealing with illegal immigration, standards for Polish courts (the Poles want to finish the job of removing communist standards), and the EU's Green Deal which will substantially raise electric rates in Poland, and indeed already have across the EU.
