NY Supreme Court slams FBI & NYT in Project Veritas case | Eastern NC Now

Politically corrupt FBI investigated conservative group, leaked info to NYT

ENCNow

In one of the most politically egregious acts of the increasingly politicized FBI, they raided the home of the head of the conservative journalist group Project Veritas and seized his computers and cell phones, and started extracting data.  The FBI then leaked confidential attorney-client memos to the leftwing mouthpiece New York Times, which printed them.  The memos dealt with a pre-existing civil lawsuit that Project Veritas had filed against the New York Times.

The courts have stepped in and slapped down both the FBI and the New York Times for this behavior that sounds more like something that would happen in a banana republic police state.  They have moved to stop extraction of data from the seized devices and they have now ordered the New York Times to destroy all of the memos it illegally obtained from the FBI, most of which had not yet been published.

The heavy politization of the FBI began in the Obama years and has increased ever since.  The organization could now correctly be called the Federal Bureau of Intimidation, with a menality in line with East Germany's old Stasi secret police.  Whether it can be saved by a complete reorganization is doubtful, and it may need to be abolished and an honest and non-political new agency created in its place.
