RINO State Senator Jim Perry leads effort for Obamacare Medicaid expansion | Eastern NC Now

pushes for key part of Roy Cooper's leftwing agenda

ENCNow

Far left Governor Roy Cooper has long sought to impose the Obamacare Medicaid expansion in North Carolina.  Under it, the majority of those transferred to the welfare roles currently already have employer paid health insurance plans, which the employers could then drop.  Senator Jim Perry (RINO-Kinston) is one of the leaders in pushing the Obamacare Medicaid expansion.

The bad thing is that we have too many sell out RINOs in Raleigh ready to give Cooper what he wants and expand our welfare roles by adopting the Obamacare Medicaid expansion.  The establishment "Republican" leadership of both the House and Senate are in bed with Cooper on this leftwing program.  In the last session of the General Assembly, those following the issue believed that a majority of the Senate GOP had been won over, and only the stalwart resistance of conservatives in the House was preventing the leadership from moving legislation on the issue.  House Speaker Tim Moore was on board, but not many of the rank and file GOP House members.

When Speaker Moore announced his appointees to the joint legislative committee handling Medicaid a few weeks ago, the committee suddenly had a new name.  It is now the Joint Legislative Committee on Medicaid Expansion and Health Choice.  The word "expansion" was not previously in the committee's name.  The Senate co-chairman of that committee is Senator Perry.

In the last session of the General Assembly, Perry was so confident of pushing Obamacare Medicaid expansion through the Senate that he went to work on House conservatives to try to sway them.  A notable response was when he approached Rep. Keith Kidwell to try to sway his vote and asked Kidwell what he would take to switch to supporting Medicaid expansion.  Kidwell replied that he would tell Perry the same thing he had told Speaker Moore, that what he would take for his vote for Medicaid expansion was Roy Cooper's resignation as governor, which shut Perry up.

If one looks at Perry's contribution list, it is clear why he is pushing this leftwing part of Obamacare so hard.  Perry is bought and paid for by Big Medicine.  He is doing their bidding instead of that of Republican voters.  It is like Perry's major role in pushing through NC's Green New Deal last session, also a major leftwing program of Governor Cooper.  Perry's contributor list shows he is bought and paid for by "woke" utility monopoly Duke Energy and by green energy special interests.  He was doing their bidding instead of looking out for the interests of his constituents.

Republican voters need to redouble our efforts to tell our legislators that we are dead set against the Obamacare Medicaid expansion, and any "Republican" who votes for it will be viewed as an Obama Republican and a Roy Cooper Republican.
