Sexual Assault Accuser Suing NBC And ‘SNL’ Alum Claims Jimmy Fallon Witnessed Her Grooming, Didn’t Stop It | Eastern North Carolina Now

A woman suing NBC and former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Horatio Sanz told The Daily Beast she believes "The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon witnessed her grooming, which allegedly began at age 15, but did nothing to stop it.

The accuser, known only as "Jane Doe," claims Sanz sexually assaulted her when she was 17 years old at an SNL afterparty in 2002. She says Sanz groped her breasts and touched her genitals in front of some of Sanz' colleagues. Later that night, she says, Sanz digitally penetrated her.

Sanz has denied the allegations, claiming Doe had asked him for millions of dollars in exchange for her silence before she sued.

"Horatio certainly is the main character here, but he didn't abuse me in a vacuum; he abused me all over Saturday Night Live," the accuser told The Daily Beast.

Doe became connected to cast members of the comedy show when she made a fan page dedicated to Fallon at the age of 15, and then Fallon and Sanz emailed her to thank her.

"Flirtatious chats between Sanz and the girl half his age followed, and before long, Doe said she began attending cast afterparties and after-after parties as Sanz' guest," The Daily Mail outlined. "She claimed many SNL staffers observed her drinking alcohol and doing drugs at those events, despite her being underage at the time."

The accuser says Fallon was aware of her age and witnessed her and Sanz's inappropriate relationship.

A friend of Doe, known as "Katherine," described Sanz as acting like Doe's boyfriend at a cast party back in 2001, when Sanz was 32 years old. She noted that the pair were "cuddly" with each other.

Katherine, then 17, said a famous SNL cast member rubbed her leg and called her "beautiful" at the party.

At a late night cast party in May 2002, then-17-year-old Doe "claimed that Sanz groped her breasts and touched her genitals in front his several cast members and NBC staffers, one of whom was quoted as exclaiming: 'are you f***ing serious?'" The Daily Mail reported. "Later that night, the complaint alleged that Sanz digitally penetrated Doe over her pantyhose."

"Following the alleged sexual assault, Doe said she was left feeling confused and angry," the report added. "When she confronted Sanz, she said he blamed her for the incident, and later told her that Fallon 'didn't care if she was a slut.'"

Days later, Doe shut down her fan page for Fallon, she said.

"I don't know how many people knew that Horatio was sexting me regularly. I don't know how much of our conversations happened when he was in his office at NBC, which he shared with Jimmy Fallon ... but I know that I deserve to know," the accuser told The Daily Beast.

"For a long while, Jane says, she made excuses for the NBC and SNL employees who witnessed what happened to her and didn't seem to know how to help," The Daily Beast report noted, adding that Doe now feels differently.

"I feel less generous toward everyone at SNL. I feel less generous toward the cast and I feel every day more and more inclined to speak up and speak out, because people who have admitted to grooming and sexually assaulting children should not get to get away with that," Doe said.

Sanz has said the allegations against him are false. "Before filing this lawsuit anonymously, she demanded $7.5 million in exchange for her silence," said attorney Andrew Brettler, Sanz's lawyer. "We, of course, refused and will vigorously contest these totally meritless claims."
