Ukrainian parliament passes new gun law

ENCNow

Responding to the Russian threat, Ukraine's parliament has greatly expanded civilian gun rights, making it much easier to buy, own, and use a wide variety of weapons, including specialized sniper rifles.  Gun stores are doing a brisk business, running out of the more formidable weapons.  There is speculation that the army, which has a vast stock of small arms dating from Soviet times, much larger than its own needs, may soon release some of its small arms stocks to civilian gun dealers.  Firearms training, based on military rifles, is a standard part of the high school curriculum in Ukraine.
