Heavy losses by Russian invaders continue against stiff Ukrainian resistance | Eastern NC Now

UPDATE: The head of MI6, the British intelligence agency, is calling the war unwinnable because of Ukrainian resilience.

Russia has continued to suffer heavy casualties in fighting last night, as well as another 8 aircraft downed by Ukrainian defenders, 2 transport planes full of paratroopers, a jet fighter, and 5 attack helicopters.  An attempt by Russia to seize an air base near Kiev was repulsed by Ukrainian defenders in heavy fighting.  Ukrainian civilian casualties are now 198 dead including 3 children.  A high rise residential apartment block near Kiev was hit by a Russian missile that blew a hole covering 5 floors.  After suffering heavy losses in failed attempts to take them, Russians have stopped their attempts to take two key cities near the border.  A Russian convoy traveling south of Kherson was annihilated.  The British Defense Ministry said that fighting in Kiev itself was limited to small pockets of Russian special forces and paratroopers, and Russia had not yet secured control of Ukrainian airspace.  The Biden regime offered President Zelensky a flight out of the country (which would have served Russia's interests) but he refused saying he was staying to defend his country.  More ships of other countries have been attacked by Russia in the Black Sea, now including ships from Japan, Turkey, Romania, and Moldova.  The invasion is costing Russia over $20 Billion per day, and Estonia's ex-defense chief has estimated that if Kiev holds out 10 days, Russia will run out of money, weapons, and resources. Demonstrations against Putin's war in Ukraine have spread to 50 cities in Russia.  Russian forces already seem to be seeing food and fuel shortages, leading them to try to steal them from Ukrainian civilians.
