Budd Shockingly Continues to Praise Putin, Says He is “Very Intelligent” | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

Charlotte, NC     Congressman Ted Budd continued his "Friendly Toward Russia" ways today by heaping yet more praise on Russian President Vladimir Putin, even as Putin leads a violent invasion of Ukraine. In a rare and shocking interview with CBS17, Budd twice said that Putin was "intelligent" and that he "should be treated as such."

Former Gov. Pat McCrory responded to Budd's astonishing comments by saying Putin's actions "aren't the actions of an intelligent man, they're the actions of a madman." McCrory said: "It's unfathomable that a sitting member of Congress who wants to be a US Senator would call Putin intelligent while bombs are being dropped on women and children." McCrory said Budd "isn't ready to be a US Senator."

Today's comments come after Budd spent the last week praising Putin and defending Budd's voting record, which was reported as being "friendly toward Russia." His record includes voting against Russian sanctions and skipping votes on similar measures.

These distortions are EXACTLY the same thing that the liberal media did to President Trump on the same subject. They took things out of context. McCrory has shown himself to be a lying snake who smears opponents with outright lies. He is completely unfit for any office.
