   For Immediate Release:

Winds and light rain today are the main events. Winds will die down tonight with sustained 15 mph and gust to 30. However, as strange as it sounds Tuesday afternoon winds will increase again with sustained 30mph and intermit en gust to 40. We will update this information as it becomes available.

Safety information for today. Wind gust will continue 40mph with peak wind gust of 50+ mph likely. We will have light rain off and on all day. Leaves, pine needles, hickory nuts, small tree branches, pecans, trash cans and rain on the roads are driving hazards currently on the secondary roads and back streets of our County. Caution should be taken when responding to emergencies. Non emergency travel should be delayed for a day if possible. If you have employees who must travel then please ensure they are briefed to be extra vigilant and aware of of what the wind may be doing to other vehicles on the road.

Have a great Monday and updates will be provided as necessary or warranted.

    Thank You:

Latest Governing Beaufort County

The city council has only made two official acts as of February 16, 2026
While this afternoon’s update once again included increased probabilities of moderate to major impacts, it will likely be tomorrow before we receive specific accumulation details.
Government and its bureaucracy are not perfect, and never has been in this self-governed society, here at the local level, at our state level, and at our federal level, therefore, it is incumbent upon all elected politicians to seek a comfortable level of representation for our constituents.
Beaufort County is implementing a new emergency alert system. All residents are encouraged to sign up to receive alerts via phone and email.

Has the local government acted responsibly and transparently?
Beaufort County Commissioners meet, and work by a majority vote to do the business of those constituents they purport to represent.
Waste, fraud, abuse and incompetence continue to govern county school budgets and decision making.

However, if one believes that Beaufort County government is in full command of the issues of our times, here locally, one might need to steel their resolve for a more perfect understanding of the intellect possessed by the Center-Left /Left Coalition.
To borrow a big phrase from this salient plan originating at the federal level, under President Trump's watchful eye, whose time has finally arrived, even here in the mispent realm of Beaufort County government(s).
We must vet, and elect those who will actually represent the people or we will be stuck with the same mess we have now.
