Mo Brooks surging in Alabama Senate race against RINO Katie Britt | Eastern North Carolina Now

Alabama's Senate primary is a nail biter as Mitch McConnell backed RINO Katie Britt, a big biz candidate has a narrow lead, within the margin of error against surging conservative Congressman Mo Brooks.  A third candidate, Blackhawk Down veteran Mike Durant, once in the lead, has faded under withering McConnell-financed attack ads.  National anti-immigration groups have been active in boosting Brooks, a longtime vocal opponent of amnesty for illegal aliens.

Brooks originally led in the race, but a falling out with Trump, who withdrew his endorsement over Brooks refusal to focus on trying to reverse the 2020 election outcome knocked Brooks into third place. With a campaign retooled around traditional conservative issues and focusing on illegal immigration has fueled a Brooks surge past Durant to within a hair of Britt.  Brooks is one of several GOP Senate primary candidates around the country to announce that they will not support McConnell for another term as Republican Senate leader.

No candidate is likely to achieve 50% so a runoff is likely, and it appears it will be between Brooks and Britt.  The dynamics of that runoff look a lot like the 2017 special primary election.  It that race, McConnell backed RINO appointed Senator Luther Strange faced Congressman Mo Brooks and former Chief Justice Roy Moore.  When a Brooks surge in the polls appeared to be setting up a runoff between Moore and Brooks, Mitch McConnell financed a massive wave of attack ads on Brooks which stopped his surge, leaving the runoff to Moore and Strange.  Angry Brooks supporters, outraged over McConnell's meddling in the primary, swarmed to Moore in the runoff, fueling his triumph over Strange.  McConnell is doing the same thing angering Durant voters in  this primary.

Staunch conservative Congressman Mo Brooks has made the Alabama Senate runoff with RINO Katie Britt, former head of the Alabama affiliate of the globalist US Chamber of Commerce. This is a clear choice between good and evil.

Mo Brooks has been a champion against illegal immigration and a real fighter on the issue in the House. He would be a wonderful addition to the Senate. His opponent is a spear carrier for corrupt crony capitalists and could not be trusted on the immigration issue. I have gone to Mo Brooks' website to send him a contribution. He will need resources for the runoff. www.mobrooks.com
