From Thursday May 19 to Saturday May 22, the North Carolina Republican Party held their annual convention in Greensboro at the Koury Convention Center. The major speakers and attendees including Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, N.C. House Speaker Tim Moore, U.S. Sen. Rick Scott of Florida, and, off his recent win in the state's U.S. Senate Republican primary, U.S. Rep. Ted Budd.

Republicans posted pictures of the behind the scenes on social media and said, "United and strong, all weekend Republicans from across the state will hear from great headline speakers, engage in critical training, and supercharge their energy for victory in November!"

Later that evening, there was a packed house for a movie by Citizens United on election fraud in the 2020 presidential election, called "Rigged 2020." The president of Citizens United, David Bossie, was there to introduce the film to those gathered.

The next day, there were breakout sessions on a number of issues, including voter outreach and best-practices around data. Among the most popular, according to a post from the party, was the one on election integrity. A luncheon after the sessions focused on the 100 county parties and their role in the upcoming election. At night, there were multiple speeches by key GOP leaders like N.C. Superintendent of Public Instruction Catherine Truitt and Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares.

Saturday kicked off with a "Judicial Victory Fund Breakfast." The event featured Republican winners in the recent judicial primaries, like Donna Stroud, Trey Allen, and Michael Stading, as well as key current Republican judges, like N.C. Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Newby.

"In a year of critically important elections, our judicial races may indeed be the most important of them all," the N.C. GOP said in a social media statement on the breakfast. "Utah AG Sean Reyes brought it home with the importance of getting judicial races right, before activist liberal judges legislate more wrongs from the bench. We can't wait to elect them all in November!"

Later in the day, the convention held a luncheon on taking back Congress, both the House and Senate, featuring U.S. Sen. Rick Scott of Florida. The party highlighted Bo Hines in the 13th District and Pat Harrigan in the 14th District as two key races that can help "take away Pelosi's gavel in the US House!"

At the dinner that night, they reserved the biggest draws in current N.C. GOP politics - Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson and U.S. Rep. Ted Budd, the party's nominee for the state's 2022 U.S. Senate race.

"NC Republicans enjoyed a wonderful night at the Old North State dinner at the 2022 NCGOP State Convention!" the party said on social media. "Treated to a powerful speech on the concept of the American Dream by Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, and a call to action from YOUR next US Senator Ted Budd! #REDWAVECOMING"
